Je Suis Charlie
On a cold January night, I found myself at the Newseum in Washington D.C. where various people gathered for a demonstration of solidarity as a response to the horrific terrorist attack at the the offices of Charlie Hebdo, a French satirical newspaper, on January 7th, 2015.
10 staff members and 2 police officers were murdered.
Such cowardly attacks against journalists in recent past have only proved the strength, power and resiliency of the freedom of speech and freedom of press.
"Journalism can never be silent: that is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault. It must speak, and speak immediately, while the echoes of wonder, the claims of triumph and the signs of horror are still in the air."
